Week 10 Real time images + Comments + Links

Theory
Two streams of movement can merge together to create a flexible and multipurpose bridge which can be designed to overlook each other and create a cozy, intertwining environment between them.

Final comments
The bridge has two layers stacked on top of each other with both levels overlooking their surroundings through the large windows and voids on the lower level. The upper level rotates to create a flexible environment suitable for any purpose. The combination of lights, voids and interior décor bring a cosy atmosphere to harmonise the interior design of the bridge. Finally, the stairs bring further stream of connection between the ground and other two layers.

Week 8 Plan inspiration to bridge

Original plan - Mies van der Roch

Extracted plan

Extracted sketch

Modified sketch

I didn't actually make a section of the modified shape. Instead, I imagined that the modified shape was a top down view of multiple layers of a structure, which were all interconnected to each other. From there I just created three different layers in SketchUp and played around with the layers to make them flow between each other.
